Mt Madonna

This is Valley View I, the area that has electrical and water hookups. My favorite site is 107, with 110 a close second. Memorial Day Weekend 2004. The redwoods catch a lot of water from the fog, and the dripping is almost like rain.
Memorial Day Weekend 2004. By 3 pm it was a warm, sunny day, but you wouldn't have guessed it this morning. Memorial Day Weekend 2004. The tops of the trees almost disappear from view.
Memorial Day Weekend 2004. A Londoner would feel right at home. Memorial Day Weekend 2004. This is looking back toward the entrance.
Part of the herd of white fallow deer. The original pair was donated by William Hearst. Looks like a nice rack, but this guy was only the size of a big dog.
See, the sun does come out sometimes. We like this site because of the mix of sun and shade, and the amount of room we have.
Some of the sites are more shaded, and right in the midst of the redwoods. This is the beginning of the non electric site loop. There are about ten sites hidden back here.
This is a real pretty tent site. Some sun, some shade, and the trail is right behind you. Another tent site.
It is hard to pick the best site, as so many are great. We had practically the whole campground to ourselves on a recent weekday.
This is where the name Valley View came from. The campground is at about 1,600 feet above sea level. Somewhere down here is Highway 101 going through Gilroy, CA.
